Job Description
The hiring establishment is a reputable catering and food service company known for delivering exceptional catering experiences in a structured and customer-focused environment. As a recognized leader in the hospitality sector, this company operates multiple units where catering operations are essential for overall success. They focus on quality, customer satisfaction, and smooth operational processes, which include order taking, production, preparation, delivery, and clean up. Their commitment to high standards and community engagement has established them as a trusted choice for catering services in their market.
This particular role, Catering Supervisor, is an essential leadership position within one of the company’s catering units. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing the total catering operations, ensuring all aspects run efficiently from order receipt to delivery. This role requires a hands-on approach, managing both the production side and customer interactions directly. The Catering Supervisor ensures that food preparation and presentation meet quality standards and that all catering orders are handled with accuracy and timeliness. Additionally, the role involves direct communication with guests and outside customers, emphasizing strong guest-service skills and professional interaction.
The Catering Supervisor leads and coordinates catering order taking via phone and POS systems, manages driver scheduling and food deliveries, and oversees the cleanliness and organization of the catering space. They supervise preparation tasks, including baking, assembling food orders into trays and baskets, and managing breakfast and lunch preparations. The role also includes responsibility for scheduling and assigning deliveries, handling customer concerns with managerial guidance, and maintaining tip distribution procedures.
Moreover, the Catering Supervisor plays an active role in catering sales initiatives, such as conducting daily customer follow-ups, coordinating community events, managing menu presentations and food tastings, and identifying new sales opportunities through outreach in the service territory. The position requires multitasking across various catering production and service functions, including secondary roles like expo duties, cashiering, dishwashing, and cooking when necessary.
This position requires a strong focus on customer service, organizational skills, and operational knowledge, along with the ability to maintain accurate financial transactions and cash flow integrity. The candidates should demonstrate proficiency in both food handling and general hospitality tasks to provide comprehensive support to the team and guests. The company is an Equal Opportunity / E-Verify Employer that adheres to Ban the Box and Fair Chance hiring guidelines to promote fair employment practices.
Hiring for this role includes ensuring the candidate meets specific requirements such as possessing a High School diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license with insurance, Food Handler card or ServSafe certification, and relevant experience in guest service within a restaurant or retail environment. Proficiency with MS Office and POS systems is also essential, alongside strong communication skills and basic math abilities.
With this supervisory role, the company offers a dynamic work environment that fosters professional growth in hospitality management. Those who join will engage in a diverse range of daily tasks, promote top-quality catering service, and contribute to the company’s mission of delivering outstanding food experiences to guests.
