Job Description
The hiring establishment is a well-established catering service company known for its commitment to quality food preparation and exceptional customer service in the hospitality industry. This company specializes in catering operations, providing a wide range of catering services to various clients and events. The company values teamwork, efficiency, and professionalism while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization within their catering units. As a reputable player in the catering sector, the organization prides itself on delivering outstanding culinary experiences while ensuring customer satisfaction and timely service. Their operations include order taking, food preparation, delivery management, and interaction with guests and clients to meet their catering needs effectively.
The role of the Catering Supervisor within this esteemed company is a pivotal one, encompassing the oversight of total catering operations in one of the company’s units. This full-time position requires a dedicated individual to supervise catering order taking, coordinate delivery drivers' schedules, manage catering production and preparation, and maintain general cleanliness and organization of the catering department. Working closely with both external customers and guests, the Catering Supervisor plays an essential role in facilitating smooth communication and delivery of catering services. This position demands hands-on supervision of food preparation, ensuring that both the presentation and service of great food meet the company’s high standards.
As the Catering Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of catering and retail employees and working in close collaboration with restaurant managers to maintain seamless operations. This includes responding to customer inquiries and concerns with managerial approval, arranging deliveries, initiating and completing food baking and preparation, assembling catering orders in baskets, trays, and bowls, and sometimes personally delivering food by vehicle or on foot. The role also involves overseeing breakfast and lunch preparation and maintaining the cleanliness standards of the catering facility, including waste disposal and sanitation.
Moreover, the Catering Supervisor is entrusted with daily financial responsibilities such as distributing tips and ensuring accurate cash flow and financial transactions. The job also requires implementing catering sales initiatives, which include daily customer callbacks, menu presentations, food tastings, community event coordination, and territory canvassing to identify new sales leads. Secondary duties may involve working as an expo, cashier, dishwasher, or line cook to support all facets of the catering operations.
This position is ideal for candidates who possess strong customer service and communication skills, have at least some experience in a guest service capacity especially within a restaurant or retail environment, and are proficient with MS Office and POS systems. Having a valid driver’s license with insurance and the ability to complete required driver training are also necessary to fulfill delivery responsibilities effectively. Given the diverse nature of the role, individuals should also be proficient in basic math skills and able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
This role offers a dynamic and engaging work environment within a supportive company that respects diversity and adheres strictly to Equal Opportunity and Fair Chance hiring guidelines. It presents a great opportunity for those passionate about food service management and seeking to grow within the hospitality and catering industry.
