The Catering Supervisor plays a pivotal leadership role within one of our units, overseeing the entire catering operations from start to finish. This position requires a hands-on approach, combining managerial expertise with direct interaction with customers and the catering team. Responsibilities include taking and modifying orders using POS systems, effectively scheduling drivers for timely deliveries, and overseeing the production and preparation of catering food items. The role demands a strong focus on maintaining cleanliness, organization, and the overall quality standards of the catering department. As a front-facing representative, the Catering Supervisor communicates directly with guests, ensuring their needs are met and any concerns are promptly addressed with the appropriate managerial support.
In this role, the Catering Supervisor not only supervises but actively participates in the preparation, presentation, and service of catering food offerings. Collaboration with catering and retail employees, as well as restaurant managers, is essential to streamline operations and uphold service excellence. A key aspect of the role is executing catering sales initiatives, such as daily customer follow-ups, menu presentations, and identifying new sales leads through active territory canvassing. The supervisor is also responsible for managing financial transactions related to catering, including distributing tips accurately and maintaining cash flow integrity. The role may extend to secondary functions such as expo duties, cashier responsibilities, dishwashing, and line cooking, demonstrating the need for versatility and a comprehensive understanding of our food service operations. Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent or in process of completing same
- Must be able to complete CBC driver training, pass a MVR according to CBC standards and maintain a valid drivers' license with insurance
- State Foodhandler card/ServSafe certification as applicable
- Preferably a minimum of 3 months work experience in a guest service capacity, restaurant or retail environment preferred
- Proficient in MS Office environment and POS systems
- Possess strong guest service and communication skills
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must be proficient in basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

Job Duties
- Takes and modifies orders over phone using POS
- Enters orders placed online into POS
- Resolves customer concerns with manager approval
- Assigns deliveries to catering employees
- Begins and completes baking/food preparation
- Assembles catering food in baskets, trays and bowls
- Makes deliveries by vehicle and or by foot
- Responsible for breakfast and lunch preparation
- Responsible for clean-up duties
- Empties trash as required
- Responsible for distributing tips daily
- Executes catering sales initiatives including daily customer call backs, menu drops, community event coordination and execution, menu presentations and food tastings, identifying sales leads through active territory canvassing
- Maintains abundant FOH displays and condiment stations
- Checks bathrooms
- Busses tables
- Prepares food to spec and order request
- Maintains accurate cash flow and integrity of financial transactions
- Prepares and organizes food for delivery to guest
