Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Catering Supervisor to oversee the total catering operations within one of our busy units. This pivotal role is essential in ensuring that catering services run smoothly from order taking to final delivery. The Catering Supervisor will play a key part in supervising the preparation, presentation, and service of our food, working closely with catering employees, restaurant managers, and outside customers. Daily responsibilities include order management using point of sale systems, scheduling drivers, supervising food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and handling customer interactions effectively. This supervisory position requires strong leadership skills, comprehensive knowledge of catering operations, and the ability to foster excellent communication between staff and guests.

The Catering Supervisor is also responsible for executing catering sales initiatives such as customer follow-ups, menu promotions, community event coordination, and canvassing for sales leads within the territory. Secondary duties may include performing front-of-house tasks such as expediting orders, cashier duties, dishwashing, and line cooking when necessary to support the team. This role ensures accurate financial transactions, proper distribution of tips, and adherence to food safety regulations. The position demands a high level of reliability, a proactive attitude, and the flexibility to handle various tasks that contribute to a successful catering service. Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in food service or retail, strong customer service skills, proficiency in POS and MS Office systems, and the ability to operate within a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or in process of completing same
  • Must be able to complete CBC driver training, pass a MVR according to CBC standards and maintain a valid drivers license with insurance
  • State Foodhandler card/ServSafe certification as applicable
  • Preferably a minimum of 3 months work experience in a guest service capacity
  • Proficient in MS Office environment and POS systems
  • Possess strong guest service and communication skills
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be proficient in basic math skills

Job Duties

  • Takes and modifies orders over phone using POS
  • enters orders placed online into POS
  • resolves customer concerns with manager approval
  • assigns deliveries to catering employees
  • begins and completes baking/food preparation
  • assembles catering food in baskets, trays and bowls
  • makes deliveries by vehicle and or by foot
  • responsible for breakfast and lunch preparation
  • responsible for clean-up duties
  • empties trash as required
  • responsible for distributing tips daily
  • executes catering sales initiatives including daily customer call backs, menu drops, community event coordination, menu presentations and food tastings, identifying sales leads through territory canvassing
  • performs secondary functions such as expo duties, cashier, dishwasher, line cook
  • maintains abundant front of house displays and condiment stations
  • checks bathrooms
  • busses tables
  • prepares food to spec and order request
  • maintains accurate cash flow and integrity of financial transactions
  • prepares and organizes food for delivery to guests
