The role of Catering Supervisor is pivotal within our operations. This position involves supervision of all catering activities in one of our units, making sure that every aspect of the catering process runs smoothly and meets quality standards. The Catering Supervisor will be responsible for managing catering order taking, scheduling drivers for timely deliveries, overseeing food production and preparation, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the catering department. This leadership role requires daily communication with guests and outside customers, ensuring exceptional service is delivered and customer concerns are addressed promptly. The Catering Supervisor works closely with both catering and retail employees, as well as restaurant managers, to coordinate efforts and support seamless operation across departments.

Key aspects of the role include handling orders via phone and online platforms using POS systems, resolving customer issues with managerial support, assigning delivery tasks to catering staff, and personally participating in baking, food preparation, and catering assembly. Additionally, this role involves making deliveries either by vehicle or on foot, preparing meals for breakfast and lunch service, and undertaking clean-up duties to uphold departmental standards. The Catering Supervisor also plays a strategic part in executing catering sales initiatives such as customer follow-ups, menu presentations, community event involvement, and territory canvassing to identify new sales leads.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or in process of completing same
  • Must be able to complete CBC driver training, pass a MVR according to CBC standards and maintain a valid drivers' license with insurance
  • State Foodhandler card or ServSafe certification as applicable
  • Preferably a minimum of 3 months work experience in a guest service capacity
  • Restaurant or retail environment preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office environment and POS systems
  • Possess strong guest service and communication skills
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be proficient in basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Takes and modifies orders over phone using POS
  • Enters orders placed online into POS
  • Resolves customer concerns with manager approval
  • Assigns deliveries to catering employees
  • Begins and completes baking/food preparation
  • Assembles catering food in baskets, trays and bowls
  • Makes deliveries by vehicle and or by foot
  • Responsible for breakfast and lunch preparation
  • Responsible for clean-up duties
  • Empties trash as required
  • Responsible for distributing tips daily
  • Executes catering sales initiatives including daily customer call backs, menu drops, community event coordination and execution, menu presentations and food tastings, identifying sales leads through active territory canvassing
  • Performs secondary functions such as expo duties, cashier, dishwasher, line cook
  • Maintains abundant FOH displays and condiment stations
  • Checks bathrooms
  • Busses tables
  • Prepares food to spec and order request
  • Maintains accurate cash flow and integrity of financial transactions
  • Prepares and organizes food for delivery to guests
