The role of Catering Supervisor at Legends is a pivotal position within the catering department. Reporting directly to the Catering Manager, the Catering Supervisor is entrusted with overseeing the setup, execution, and clean-up of all banquet functions, ensuring that every event runs smoothly and guests receive impeccable service. This position requires hands-on leadership and excellent organizational skills to coordinate with multiple teams including housemen, stewarding, facilities, and culinary staff. The Catering Supervisor will manage inventory relating to equipment, small wares, disposables, and beverages to maintain seamless event operations. By supervising event room set-up and breakdown, and coordinating the movement of supplies, this role plays a crucial part in the overall success of catering functions.

Additionally, the Catering Supervisor is responsible for greeting clients, addressing their requests, and communicating event details to staff during pre-event meetings. This individual also assists in planning and organizing functions, ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to throughout the event lifecycle. The position demands a professional appearance, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and excellent communication skills in English to interface effortlessly with clients and team members. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college preferred
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks involving constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Strong organizational skills and decision-making ability
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, and guest relations
  • Ability to interact cooperatively with coworkers
  • Completion of company-wide and job-specific safety training
  • Adherence to all safety policies and procedures
  • Reporting of safety incidents promptly

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items
  • Proficient in English for communication
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
  • Sufficient mobility to perform tasks involving reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling
  • At least 18 years of age

Job Duties

  • Oversee set-up and clean-up for banquet functions
  • Responsible for inventory of equipment, small wares, disposables, and beverages
  • Supervise housemen and stewarding team during event set-up and break-down
  • Coordinate movement of beverages and equipment for events
  • Supervise food and beverage service and event room set-up and clean up
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and execution of functions
  • Greet clients and respond to requests
  • Speak at roll call meetings prior to events about event particulars and expectations
  • Oversee general cleaning tasks to adhere to health standards
  • Check with Facilities, Catering, and Culinary teams for last-minute changes
  • Complete other duties assigned by Catering Management
