The Catering Supervisor position at Legends plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards the company is known for. Reporting directly to the Catering Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing the set-up and clean-up of all banquet functions, ensuring the venue is prepared and maintained to exceed guests' expectations. The Catering Supervisor acts as a key leader on-site, supervising housemen and stewarding teams, coordinating equipment and beverage logistics, and assisting with the planning and execution of events. This position demands strong organizational skills, leadership abilities, and the capacity to handle fast-paced event environments while maintaining composure and professionalism.

In this role, the Catering Supervisor is instrumental in managing the inventory of equipment, disposables, and beverages required for various functions. They ensure that all service and room arrangements comply with company standards and health regulations. Additionally, the supervisor communicates with clients and event staff to address any last-minute requests or changes, providing seamless guest service and satisfaction. Being the primary contact during roll call meetings before events allows the supervisor to effectively convey expectations and event particulars to the team.

Candidates for this role must have a foundational understanding of food and beverage service standards, guest relations, and etiquette, alongside practical knowledge of appropriate table settings and serviceware. The position requires physical stamina to perform various production tasks such as lifting, reaching, bending, and prolonged periods of activity. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college preferred
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Ability to speak and write English
  • Ability to lift 10-30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Physical mobility to perform production tasks such as reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing and pulling
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Job Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to make quick and accurate decisions
  • Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism
  • Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, serviceware and menu items
  • Must be able to read, speak and write English Language in order to communicate with guests
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including: constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the inventory of equipment, small wares, disposables, and beverages
  • Supervise housemen and stewarding team during the set-up and break-down of events
  • Coordinate the movement of beverages and equipment for all events
  • Supervise Food and Beverage service and event room set-up and clean up
  • Assist with the planning, organizing and execution of all functions
  • Greet clients in charge and respond to requests
  • Speak at roll call meetings prior to events to inform staff about event particulars and expectations
  • Oversee general cleaning tasks using standard products as assigned to adhere to health standards
  • Check with Facilities, Catering and Culinary for any last-minute changes
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Catering Management
