The Catering Service Worker Lead role at Aramark is a supervisory position that plays a critical part in managing and supporting catering events across both central and satellite venues. This position requires a hands-on leader who is adept at overseeing the planning, execution, and seamless delivery of catering services, ensuring adherence to brand standards and operational excellence. This role includes direct supervision of catering staff efforts such as coordination of personnel and rental equipment, ensuring efficient set-up, preparation, service, and break-down of catered food and beverage events that range in size and complexity. The Catering Service Worker Lead also manages event bookings, selects and prices menu items in collaboration with clients, and maintains cost controls to meet budgetary needs. Part of the role involves assisting with staff hiring, discipline, and performance evaluations, contributing to staff development and operational effectiveness.

Collaboration with internal departments, vendors, and client service users is crucial to this position, requiring exemplary communication and organizational skills. Representing Aramark at meetings and events, the lead facilitates strong external customer relationships that enhance the company’s brand reputation. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with all safety, sanitation, and organizational standards through checklists, supervision, and follow-ups. The lead actively participates in various training programs and is involved in the implementation of Aramark’s OpX Catering initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years operational experience in a hotel/banquet setting
  • prior experience with booking of events preferred
  • ability to lift, bend, push, pull and/or extended walking and standing
  • willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment (PPE)

Job Duties

  • Develops and is accountable for a safety culture that creates a work environment where no one gets hurt
  • directly supervises catering operations including coordination of staff and rental equipment, set-up, preparation, service, and break down of catered foods, beverages, and events of varying size and complexity
  • booking of events, selecting and costing menu items, and pricing as needed
  • assists with hiring, discipline, and performance reviews
  • coordinates activities with other internal departments
  • participates in management team meetings
  • interfaces with vendors and key service users within client organization
  • facilitate external customer relations
  • represents Aramark and the client at meetings and events
  • ensures that appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met through checklists, hands-on supervision, and follow-up
  • participates in all catering training programs
  • helps to develop and implement training programs for hourly, part-time, and student employees
  • aid in implementation and adherence to all Aramark OpX Catering initiatives and guidelines
