The Morton Arboretum, in partnership with Aramark Signature Events, presents an exciting opportunity for a Catering Event Driver to join their event operations team. This role is pivotal to the success of various catered events held at the Arboretum, a renowned outdoor museum of trees and plants located in Illinois. The Catering Event Driver will be responsible for ensuring the timely and safe transportation of food, beverages, and catering equipment from kitchen and warehouse locations to on-site event venues across the property.
This position demands professionalism, punctuality, and a keen attention to detail to uphold food safety standards and customer satisfaction. Catering Event Drivers play a key role in supporting the culinary and event teams by managing deliveries efficiently and ensuring seamless event execution. The work hours are based on event needs and may include mornings, daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates can expect opportunities for overtime during peak seasons from May to December, depending on event availability.
The hourly compensation for this role is set at $20.00, reflecting Aramark's good faith estimate of the fair market rate at the time of posting. The Catering Event Driver must operate company vehicles in a manner consistent with food safety, transportation guidelines, and company policies. Their duties include loading, transporting, and unloading catering supplies, maintaining clear communication with catering and event teams, tracking inventory, and assisting with event setups and breakdowns as required. They are expected to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of delivery vehicles and adhere to the prescribed dress code, which includes wearing black non-slip shoes, black dress shirts or polos, black dress pants, and a name tag to maintain a professional appearance.
This role is ideal for individuals who have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, can handle physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. Job Duties
- Load, transport, and unload food, beverages, and catering equipment
- safely operate company delivery vans or trucks in accordance with food safety, transportation, and company safety policies
- follow assigned delivery routes, schedules, and timelines
- review and follow Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
- maintain clear communication with the catering manager, event supervisors, culinary teams, sales teams, and bartenders
- anticipate team and event needs to proactively support smooth operations
- manage and track equipment and supply inventory on a weekly basis at assigned locations
- obtain delivery confirmations from supervisors as required
- assist culinary teams and event supervisors with event execution as needed
- support event setup and breakdown when required
- maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of delivery vehicles
- work collaboratively with the event operations team and step in wherever needed to support operations and guest satisfaction
