Anaheim Arena Management, LLC is a premier entertainment venue management company responsible for operating the Honda Center, a multipurpose arena in Anaheim, California. The Catering Server position at Honda Center offers an attractive starting hourly rate of $25.00 per hour and is a part-time role. This job is well-suited for individuals who excel in customer service and multitasking in a high-volume environment. The primary responsibility of a Catering Server is to establish a hospitable dining atmosphere for guests by taking food and beverage orders, providing menu details and recommendations, and ensuring guests have a memorable experience. The server must work efficiently and courteously, collaborating closely with kitchen and bar staff to deliver prompt and accurate orders. Candidates who are detail-oriented and capable of handling special requests or dietary restrictions will thrive in this role.

Additionally, Catering Servers are responsible for maintaining safety and sanitation standards in accordance with Food & Beverage Department policies. The role requires adherence to responsible alcohol service rules, including verifying guest ages and serving alcoholic beverages responsibly. The position demands physical stamina, as servers need to be capable of standing or walking for extended periods, lifting up to 20 pounds, and frequently navigating stairs during shifts. Flexibility in scheduling is also essential, as servers must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Duties

  • greet guests in a friendly and hospitable manner
  • ensure guests have a positive dining experience
  • acknowledge special requests and/or dietary restrictions
  • take food and beverage orders for all guests in each party
  • make recommendations in accordance to guests’ requests
  • sell/upsell daily specials
  • serve any/all alcoholic beverages responsibly by strictly adhering to responsible alcohol service guidelines
  • properly identify age requirements of all customers
  • possess knowledge of complete menu offerings, including production specifications, ingredients, cooking times, presentation/packaging
  • collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of guest(s)’ orders
  • ensure thorough and detailed communication of any/all dietary restrictions/allergies
  • deliver professional, courteous, and efficient service to guests
  • present guests with check and settle payment in a timely and professional manner
  • ensure accurate processing of cash payments
  • responsible for completing all station set-up, breakdown, and cleaning duties
  • maintain knowledge of restaurant happenings, including menu updates, operational guidelines, service hours, special offerings
  • support all team members to ensure guests receive high quality service
  • provide notes and insights if guests have special requests
  • assist team by clearing/cleaning/pre-setting tables for next party
  • ensure hospitable experience for all guests
  • protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies
  • understand and assist with execution of responsible alcohol service
  • follow, adhere, and practice the Safety and Sanitation standards set forth by the Food & Beverage Department including social distancing, use of face mask/covering when in common areas, presence of guests, and where Social Distancing is not possible
  • use of gloves when handling guest food or beverage
  • cleaning and sanitizing high contact surfaces that are frequently used by guests and fellow employees
  • frequent handwashing, regardless of use of gloves
  • other tasks as assigned by supervisors and/or managers
