The Catering Sales Manager position is a pivotal role within the hotel's Food & Beverage department, responsible for maximizing revenues and profits by effectively selling public spaces, food and beverage services, and function planning. This role demands a strategic and customer-focused individual who can establish new accounts while nurturing repeat business. The Catering Sales Manager will work closely with clients to understand their needs, tailor event menus and agendas, and coordinate with various departments and external vendors to ensure seamless event execution.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong knowledge of meeting room setups and capabilities, event solicitation processes, and catering budgets. The role involves setting and exceeding sales goals, managing client relationships, and overseeing the booking trends to provide accurate forecasts and reports. Job Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of progressive hotel or related field experience
  • or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 or more years of related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience
  • proficiency in Windows and company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules, and liquor laws and regulations

Job Duties

  • Know meeting room sets and capabilities
  • set solicitation goals with the Director of Sales/Catering and meet or exceed solicitation and revenue goals
  • re-solicit past local accounts and generate new business
  • meet and greet in-house guests upon arrival and introduce relevant staff
  • develop menus and agendas, ensure BEO's are issued and handle correspondence with outside vendors to finalize programs
  • maintain current information on booking trends and produce forecast figures and month-end reports
  • manage the catering budget and ensure compliance with local liquor laws and health regulations
