The Catering Sales Manager role at SunStream Hotels & Resorts plays a crucial part in driving the company’s catering and event revenue through proactive and strategic sales efforts. This position is tasked with cultivating and maintaining strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for clients during the planning and execution of catering and event functions. The role requires meticulous coordination in managing event inquiries, preparing comprehensive proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders (BEOs), as well as overseeing the flawless delivery of events to ensure guest satisfaction. Partnering closely with hotel operations teams, the Catering Sales Manager ensures that all events run smoothly from setup through service to cleanup, maintaining high standards of quality and customer service throughout the entire guest experience.

In addition to sales and client management, this role also involves supervising banquet functions including room setup, scheduling, employee training, and supply ordering. The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Florida state health and safety regulations, including maintaining a current state food handlers management certification. The role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously while driving new business growth through prospecting, networking, referrals, and responding promptly to event inquiries. An ideal candidate will have a background in hospitality management, event planning, or sales with proven success in meeting or exceeding revenue goals. They will possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills to foster long-term client relationships and team collaboration. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in catering sales, hotel sales, event planning, hospitality sales, or a related customer-facing sales role
  • Must possess and maintain valid and state food handlers certification
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certified Hospitality Sales Professional (CHSP) are a plus
  • Ability to generate new business, negotiate contracts, and meet or exceed revenue goals
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Generate catering and event sales through prospecting, networking, referrals, and responding to inquiries
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, banquet event orders (BEOs), and other event documentation
  • Oversee the success of all banquet events and activities including room set-ups, services, schedules, and cleanup
  • Select, train, and develop employees involved in banquet and catering functions
  • Order supplies and oversee collection of payment
  • Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations including maintaining current food handlers certification
  • Coordinate with hotel operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences
