The role of Sales Manager - Catering at Omni Providence Hotel is pivotal in driving the hotel's catering revenue through strategic prospecting and client relationship management. This position demands a proactive sales approach focused on achieving specific revenue goals as set by the Director of Sales & Marketing. The Sales Manager is responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities across assigned catering market segments and local businesses. They must expertly manage in-house wedding bookings, maintain in-depth knowledge of all hotel services including front desk, reservations, room service, and catering, and effectively merchandise function spaces to maximize room rental opportunities. Timely and detailed proposal and contract delivery within 24 hours is a crucial aspect of this role.

Additional responsibilities include active involvement in industry-related activities and trade organizations to foster networking opportunities. The Sales Manager closely monitors service boards for new business leads, prepares for client arrivals by reviewing banquet event orders and ensuring the accuracy of block space in the Delphi system, and maintains thorough client and booking files. Interdepartmental coordination is key, requiring smooth transitions of sales files to conference service teams and participation in pre-conference meetings. The role involves building strong client relationships through entertainment and communication, managing client activities during their stay, and spearheading forecasting and sales meetings to uphold high standards of professionalism. Furthermore, the Sales Manager plays a consultative role, recommending improvements to hotel facilities and services and mentoring administrative assistant staff to align with future goals. Regular competitive analysis and reporting are also part of the role to maintain a competitive edge in the market. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
