Known for serving the freshest fish seven days a week, Sushi-san is a Japanese restaurant that showcases the artistry and tradition of sushi preparation. Under the expert guidance of Master Sushi Chef Kaze Chan, the menu offers a diverse selection of signature maki, handrolls, San-Sets, nigiri, and sashimi, complemented by sizzling rice and binchotan robata grilled dishes. The role of Catering Sales Manager at Sushi-san Nashville is a critical position designed for a dynamic professional with a passion for building relationships and a deep understanding of the Nashville market. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range from $55,000 to $75,000 per year, along with a lucrative commission structure that rewards successful sales outcomes. The ideal candidate will bring 2 to 5 years of catering sales experience and demonstrate the ability to develop and nurture client relationships, expand the restaurant’s presence in a new city, and contribute meaningfully to the brand's growth. Job Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of catering sales experience
  • Knowledge of the Nashville market
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and travel
  • Physical ability to move and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with catering event software and online scheduling
  • Ability to collaborate with culinary and management teams

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of catering sales, events, or hospitality sales experience
  • Skilled in developing guest rapport
  • Strong knowledge of the Nashville market and local business community connections
  • Proven ability to generate leads, build client relationships and grow revenue
  • Experience coordinating corporate events, social events and large-group dining
  • Excellent communication, organization and follow-through
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to build in a new and growing market

Job Duties

  • Manage the restaurant’s catering and events to ensure an exceptional guest and employee experience
  • Develop and maintain a client list using various techniques including prospecting and cold calls
  • Develop and write catering proposals, contracts and event orders
  • Schedule catering events in online system
  • Respond to client and guest questions
  • Work toward achieving sales goals
  • Attend tastings and meetings
  • Collaborate with General Manager and Chef to develop catering menus
  • Cultivate and maintain a list of preferred vendors
  • Assist General Manager in managing costs, driving sales and growing the business in support of financial goals
  • Partner with General Manager and management team to interview, hire, onboard, train, supervise and develop catering team employees
  • Understand and assist with in-house audio visual equipment as needed
  • Model and promote teamwork across all teams
  • Use tact and good judgment when dealing with guests, vendors and employees
  • Work various days and shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends and possible overnight travel
  • Move and lift up to 10 pounds frequently, 25 pounds regularly, and 50 pounds occasionally
