Job Description

The Ben, located at 251 N Narcissus Ave, West Palm Beach, Florida, is a distinguished hotel operated by an independent franchisee, Sage Hospitality, and proudly affiliated with the Autograph Collection by Marriott International. The Autograph Collection is renowned for its curated portfolio of four and five-star independent hotels, each recognized for exceptional quality, unique character, and tailored experiences that resonate with The Individualist traveler who seeks meaningful and personalized journeys. As part of this esteemed collection, The Ben embodies a blend of elegance, dynamic service offerings, and a commitment to creating memorable events and experiences that cater to both personal and corporate clients in the vibrant West Palm Beach area.

This role is for a Catering Sales Manager within The Ben hotel, a critical position focused on fostering the hotel's growth in the competitive events and catering market. Employed directly by Sage Hospitality rather than Marriott International, the Catering Sales Manager plays an essential role in driving group and catering revenue through strategic sales initiatives, proactive business development, and maintaining strong client relationships. This full-time, management-level position requires a highly motivated sales professional passionate about hospitality sales, business development, and delivering unparalleled client services.

The Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying, targeting, and securing new business opportunities while maximizing existing accounts to reinforce The Ben’s status as a premier destination for meetings, corporate functions, and social occasions in West Palm Beach. Success in this role demands creativity, resilience, and a strong service-driven mindset, combining market insight and innovative selling strategies to increase revenue. The position involves dedicating the majority of work time—at least 90%—to revenue-generating tasks such as prospecting, networking, and direct client engagement.

Key responsibilities include conducting high-impact sales calls, maintaining a strategic sales program aligned with departmental and marketing goals, and representing the hotel at industry events and networking functions. The Catering Sales Manager must also negotiate contracts, prepare customized proposals, and optimize revenue through yield management strategies. Furthermore, they are tasked with maintaining detailed client account records, providing exceptional service throughout the event sales cycle, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure flawless execution.

Physical demands require mobility within the hotel, occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds, and the ability to stand for extended periods during meetings and events. The role also entails regular work in professional office settings and participation in off-site events and client meetings. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary for this role to facilitate outside sales calls and client visits.

Benefits for this role include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts; basic life and AD&D insurance; unlimited paid time off including community service and holidays; a 401(k) plan with employer matching; an employee assistance program; tuition reimbursement; lifestyle discounts across hotel and restaurant services; and a generous employee referral bonus program. The salary range for the Catering Sales Manager position at The Ben is $80,000 to $85,000, reflecting the level of responsibility and expertise required.

Joining The Ben means becoming part of a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. The hotel’s affiliation with the Autograph Collection offers employees the opportunity to grow professionally within a respected global portfolio that values creativity, excellence, and individuality. Embracing integrity and professionalism, the Catering Sales Manager will contribute significantly to the continuing success and reputation of The Ben as an extraordinary venue in West Palm Beach.
