Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales or catering roles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel locally for meetings and events
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales, hospitality, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in catering or hotel sales, preferably within a luxury or upscale environment
- Strong relationship-building and client management skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficiency with sales software and CRM systems
- Knowledge of event planning and execution processes
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets
Job Duties
- Proactively solicit, qualify, and secure group and catering business to achieve individual and hotel revenue goals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to drive repeat business and long-term loyalty
- Respond promptly to catering and group sales inquiries, preparing proposals, contracts, and customized event solutions
- Conduct site tours, client meetings, sales calls, and networking activities to promote the hotel and expand market presence
- Partner closely with Event Management and Operations teams to ensure seamless event execution and exceptional guest experiences
- Utilize strategic selling, negotiation, and upselling techniques to maximize revenue opportunities
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities
- Deliver elevated customer service throughout the sales and event planning process in alignment with Westin and brand service standards
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure coordinated communication and successful program delivery
- Maintain accurate sales records, reports, and systems while leveraging available sales tools and technology resources
