Job Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years of selling group business in a hotel
  • Proven track record of success in sales
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to complete solicitation calls by telephone and in person
  • Ability to negotiate group room rates and hotel services
  • Experience managing group bookings and creating banquet event orders
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with Delphi.FDC system
  • Flexibility to work weekends
  • Experience with Hilton and Choice brands is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of selling group business in a hotel with a proven track record of success
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated with a strong emphasis on achieving goals
  • Ability to complete telephone solicitation calls and in person sales calls both in-house and offsite
  • Ability to negotiate group room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines
  • Experience in managing group bookings and events including developing banquet event orders
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and telephone skills
  • Experience conducting tours of hotel and banquet facilities
  • Experience attending and representing at trade shows
  • Familiarity with Delphi.FDC sales and catering system
  • Experience working with Hilton and Choice hotel brands is a plus
  • Flexibility to work some weekend hours

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement targeted sales strategies for the SMERF market segments
  • Book quality business which meets the needs of the client as well as the hotels' budgeted criteria
  • Fully understands that the most important function of the Sales Department is to book business at a profitable level
  • Participate in weekly Sales and Yield meetings and after hour’s functions such as special events and networking events outside of the hotel
  • Collaborate with the event planning and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of group bookings
  • Maintain professional appearance and personality in rapport with customers and other employees
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients ensuring high customer satisfaction and repeat business
  • Respond to inquiries in a timely manner and provide exceptional customer service to corporate clients
  • Monitor competitor activity in the SMERF market segment and adjust strategies accordingly
