Job Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalency with hotel/college training preferred
  • Previous restaurant or hotel food and beverage experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of banquet revenue generation
  • Creative, proactive, and customer-oriented
  • High energy and outgoing personality
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Diplomatic team player
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, event management software, and customer management platforms
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude and hands-on approach
  • Flexible to work varied schedules including nights, holidays, and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or associates degree preferred
  • Experience in hospitality, service, or consumer-facing franchise preferred
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow established guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly
  • Ability to work well in high-pressure and stressful situations
  • Effective listening and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work with financial information and basic arithmetic

  • Proficient in Windows operating systems, spreadsheets, and word processing

Job Duties

  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile
  • Use guests' names whenever possible to ensure they feel welcome
  • Work together as a team to contribute to great guest satisfaction scores
  • Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and urgency
  • Maintain strong knowledge of hotel features and amenities
  • Support all groups and events at the hotel
  • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting
  • Keep all workspaces clean and well-organized
  • Pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed
  • Greet guests with a smile while cleaning
  • Complete all operational checklists accurately and on time
  • Ensure shift handover reports are accurate and timely
  • Wear clean, approved uniform and maintain grooming standards
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with team members
  • Exhibit a can-do attitude and willingness to go beyond traditional role
  • Work collaboratively to create a positive environment
  • Collaborate with operations team to develop event plans
  • Lead and mentor team members in event strategies
  • Grow client relationships through upselling and proactive service
  • Plan and manage events from conception to completion including logistics and invoicing
  • Follow MCR Events SOPs accurately
  • Maintain accurate and organized file management using Delphi
  • Identify and act on business opportunities
  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written form
  • Integrate customer feedback into service improvements
  • Negotiate with clients on menus, bar setup, and room arrangements
  • Understand the impact of banquet operations on hotel success
  • Solve problems and suggest alternatives to arrangements
  • Lead pre-event and post-event meetings
  • Manage client budgets and group room blocks
  • Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures
  • Celebrate team member contributions
  • Participate in customer site inspections
  • Act as liaison between salesperson and client
  • Manage revenue and profitability related to events
  • Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue
  • Review billing and payments with clients
  • Handle guest problems and complaints
  • Set a positive example for guest relations
  • Coordinate and communicate event details internally and externally
