Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Among its prestigious brands, JW Marriott represents the luxury portfolio, offering more than 100 distinctive properties in gateway cities and resort locations worldwide. JW Marriott is known for prioritizing its associates' well-being, creating a supportive community environment, and providing opportunities for professional growth and development. With a focus on holistic well-being and fostering a culture of genuine hospitality, JW Marriott ensures that employees can pursue their passions while contributing to the brand’s legacy of excellence.
Marriott Hotels strive to elevate hospitality by innovating while maintaining the comfort and familiarity that guests expect. As part of Marriott International, JW Marriott is dedicated to the credo of “Wonderful Hospitality. Always.” and provides a welcoming environment where associates from diverse backgrounds are valued and celebrated. The company actively supports equal opportunity employment and embraces diversity as its greatest strength.
The position available is a full-time, non-management role based in Newport Beach, California, specifically located at 900 Newport Center Dr. This role is ideal for candidates seeking day shifts and offers an hourly pay rate of $29.75. The focus is on working within the Food and Beverage & Culinary category, providing vital support during banquet functions and events.
The key responsibilities revolve around working closely with the group coordinator or host to ensure smooth event execution. This includes reviewing and analyzing banquet event orders to gather necessary guest information, coordinating event setups, timelines, and addressing any special needs such as buffets or action stations. The role demands a high level of attention to detail to ensure that all event arrangements meet company and safety standards while providing excellent guest service.
An essential part of this role includes adhering strictly to company policies, including safety and security measures, maintaining professional appearance, confidentiality, and protecting company assets. Associates are expected to welcome guests warmly, anticipate their needs, and maintain a positive, professional communication style. This role requires physical stamina such as standing or walking for extended periods and the ability to move or lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Candidates with at least a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and one year of related work experience are preferred. While no supervisory experience or certifications are required, the candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and teamwork. The successful associate will help maintain an environment of hospitality excellence, supporting the team in reaching common goals and ensuring guests receive thoughtful, heartfelt service that upholds JW Marriott’s legacy.
This position offers a unique opportunity to join a worldwide hospitality leader where personal and professional growth is encouraged, and associates are recognized and celebrated. By joining JW Marriott, candidates become part of a global brand synonymous with luxury hospitality and receive the ‘‘JW Treatment,’’ a commitment to their well-being and success.
