- Minimum two years catering sales or two years in hotel catering, convention services, banquet, hotel sales or culinary arts

Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years of catering sales experience or two years in hotel catering, convention services, banquet, hotel sales, or culinary arts
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- strong negotiation and communication skills
- ability to work flexible schedules including weekends
- proficiency in coordinating multi-departmental communication
- knowledge of hotel operations
- team leadership and supervisory skills
- skills in marketing and customer service
- ability to analyze sales data and trends
- familiarity with banquet event order processes
Job Duties
- Sell and detail social and corporate catering events with and without guest rooms for the hotel
- oversee execution of events including flexible work schedules
- negotiate arrangements including menus, bar setup, and room arrangements
- inform other departments of event details to ensure success
- solicit new business and maintain contract negotiations
- coordinate marketing efforts and communication with hotel staff before, during, and after events
- train and supervise associates
- maintain budgeted sales quotas
- create ideas to increase revenue during low demand periods
- finalize Banquet Event Order Sheets and distribute
- provide personalized guest service
- solicit future business from current and past customers
- maintain teamwork and positive attitude
- delegate responsibilities to banquet captain
- meet booking and solicitation goals
- maintain records and analyze cancellations
- conduct site tours for potential customers
- facilitate meetings related to events
- exercise discretion and judgment in hotel operations and guest relations
