- Ability to move around the hotel to conduct site inspections
Job Qualifications
- Experience in sales and catering within the hospitality industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct presentations both in person and virtually
- Proficiency in contract creation and management
- Knowledge of hotel department interactions
- Skilled in negotiation and closing sales
- Customer service oriented with problem solving abilities
Job Duties
- Prospecting for new business including internet prospecting, cold calling and contacting former clients
- Attending industry events and programs as needed
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Responding timely to incoming group and catering business opportunities
- Conducting hotel site inspections and client presentations both in person and virtually
- Creating contracts and booking documentation including activity tracking and managing client account files
- Detailing event requirements such as food and beverage, setup, and audio visual needs
- Creating group resumes and communicating client needs to all hotel departments
- Using negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close business and negotiate contracts
