The current opening at Jarabe Mexican Street Food is for a moving Prep Cook at their catering and prep facility located in Lyons, Illinois. This role primarily involves the preparation of both hot and cold menu items essential to the company's wide range of delicious offerings. The position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with a regular schedule primarily from Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 3 PM, and additional chances to earn extra income during events held on nights and weekends. - prior experience in a food preparation or kitchen role preferred

Job Duties
- Be punctual with regards to scheduling and attendance policy
- adhere to food quality standards including consistency and preparation
- prepare food items in order to prescribed recipes
- safely and efficiently use knives, utensils, and other tools and equipment necessary to complete preparation of menu items
- observe and practice all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
- commit to long hours of work to complete tasks when necessary
- regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
- measure and mix ingredients according to recipe to meals
- bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- observe and test foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and taking temperature
- wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits
- prepare menu items with different preparation times to be completed at the same time
