Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a food preparation or kitchen role preferred
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • basic English communication skills
  • willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • punctuality and reliability
  • commitment to food safety and hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

  • Experience with Mexican food a plus
  • must be hardworking team player
  • Spanish a plus
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • physical stamina to stand and walk entire shifts
  • basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation procedures

Job Duties

  • Be punctual with regards to scheduling and attendance policy
  • adhere to food quality standards including consistency and preparation
  • prepare food items in order to prescribed recipes
  • safely and efficiently use knives, utensils, and other tools and equipment necessary to complete preparation of menu items
  • observe and practice all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
  • commit to long hours of work to complete tasks when necessary
  • regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
  • measure and mix ingredients according to recipe to meals
  • bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
  • observe and test foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and taking temperature
  • wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits
  • prepare menu items with different preparation times to be completed at the same time
