The Walt Disney Company, a global leader in entertainment and hospitality, is renowned for creating unparalleled experiences for millions of guests worldwide. Known not only for its iconic theme parks and resorts but also for its dedication to creative storytelling and operational excellence, Disney represents a dynamic and innovative work environment. The company's commitment extends beyond entertainment to include opportunities for career growth, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee well-being and professional development.
The role of Catering Planning Resource Manager at Walt Disney World is a pivotal position within the Catering Planning & Logistics team. This fully on-site, leadership role is designed for a motivated individual who will oversee the scheduling of hourly Cast Members within the Catering Culinary and Stewarding departments. Reporting directly to the Manager of Catering Planning & Logistics, the Resource Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient labor deployment aligned with performance targets while maintaining an exceptional guest experience. This position offers a competitive salary range of $68,600 to $91,000 annually, with potential bonuses and long-term incentive units based on performance and experience.
Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and continuously improving staffing guidelines, partnering with local areas and Workforce Management to forecast labor needs, and leading a team that collects real-time operational data for accurate scheduling. The manager must ensure that labor resources meet the workload demands without compromising profitability, producing schedules that maximize operational performance and align with key performance indicators. Analyzing planned versus actual work hours, reporting on headcount and full-time equivalent levels, and managing variances against budget are critical components of the role. The manager also interacts with various operational management teams to influence labor planning decisions.
This position requires a leader who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate must be able to motivate and manage a team through dynamic and often high-pressure situations while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Effective conflict resolution, decision-making, and time management capabilities are essential, as is the ability to work independently and collaborate with Cast Members at all organizational levels. Proficiency in Windows applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is expected, along with schedule flexibility to include weekends, variable shifts, and holidays.
Joining Disney as a Catering Planning Resource Manager means contributing to a company that values innovation, teamwork, and diversity. It offers a unique opportunity to influence labor strategies in a world-class hospitality environment, supporting both the business goals and the magical experiences that Disney delivers daily. The role not only impacts operational success but also plays a significant part in sustaining Disney’s reputation for excellence in guest satisfaction and workforce management.
