Job Description
Camber Events is a leading catering company in the Wine Country region, specializing in luxury private dining experiences, weddings, winery events, and corporate hospitality across Sonoma and Napa Counties. The company has built a strong reputation for producing refined, high-quality events that emphasize creativity and exceptional service. Camber Events has quickly become one of the fastest-growing companies in this niche, combining a passionate team with a client-focused approach to create memorable and unique hospitality experiences. Their services extend beyond traditional catering, showcasing expertise in custom menus, artisanal presentation, and personalized event design.
Camber Desserts represents the next chapter in this journey, evolving as a dedicated division focusing solely on extraordinary pastry experiences. This new division is designed to provide luxury dessert offerings including wedding cakes, plated desserts, elaborate dessert displays, artisan breads, specialty confections, and innovative hospitality concepts that are currently unmatched in the local market. The founding pastry chef role is a unique opportunity for a driven culinary professional to shape this emerging brand from the ground up while leveraging Camber's well-established event portfolio and client base.
This is a part-time position that includes hands-on support of Camber's current dessert production while collaborating directly with company ownership to design and launch Camber Desserts. The ideal candidate is more than a skilled pastry chef; they are an entrepreneur ready to build a lasting business. They should possess outstanding technical skills paired with a creative vision and have experience in nationally recognized pastry programs, such as those awarded Michelin stars or James Beard recognition. The role promises growth potential into a full leadership position and long-term partnership within the company as the dessert division expands.
Candidates will be involved in crafting seasonal dessert collections, developing wedding and celebration cake programs, creating luxury dessert displays, and establishing operational standards and production systems for this new division. A strong emphasis is placed on organization, quality control, and craftsmanship, with the understanding that every dessert reflects Camber’s exceptional standards. This position appeals to an individual passionate about innovation, brand building, and contributing to an unparalleled luxury hospitality experience in Wine Country. For those seeking to grow their own brand with a solid infrastructure and a vibrant client base, this role offers a rare chance to realize that vision. The compensation is hourly and commensurate with experience, with significant long-term leadership and equity opportunities envisioned as the business grows. Additional training and mentorship are available for candidates without prestigious pastry program experience, indicating a willingness to invest in the right talent and cultivate future leaders.
