Job Description

Bon Appetit Management Company is a leading restaurant company specializing in contract food service, dedicated to providing exceptional culinary experiences and outstanding service. Unlike traditional corporate food service companies that rely on standardized recipes and commissaries, Bon Appetit empowers its chefs and managers to be innovative, staying current with culinary trends and creating fresh, exciting menus tailored to their specific locations and clientele. The company is founded on the belief that food should be passionately prepared and thoughtfully served, with an emphasis on creativity and quality rather than conformity. Bon Appetit has a strong commitment to employee growth, encouraging staff to learn new skills, take on challenges, and explore opportunities within their expansive and rapidly growing network of accounts. This vibrant and dynamic company culture offers enriching career advancements and the chance to collaborate with talented professionals across the foodservice industry.

The role of Catering Manager at Wabash College is pivotal in upholding Bon Appetit's reputation for excellence. This position involves leading the daily operations of the campus catering department and requires a professional who can balance operational management with an inspired culinary vision. As Catering Manager, you will oversee all aspects of catering events, from initial planning stages through to flawless execution, ensuring guests receive top-tier service while events run smoothly and efficiently. A significant part of the position includes managing the catering team, providing training and guidance to ensure service standards are met, and supporting culinary collaboration with the Chef to develop custom menus aligned with client needs. This role also demands careful financial oversight, requiring the manager to monitor food and labor costs to meet budget goals without compromising quality.

Strong client relationship management is critical, as the Catering Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients, addresses their needs, and ensures repeat satisfaction. This is a hands-on role that also supports wider foodservice operations on campus, reflecting Bon Appetit’s integrated approach to service excellence. With a salary range of $60,000 to $65,000 per year, this position offers a competitive compensation package and the opportunity to thrive in a supportive yet fast-paced environment. Bon Appetit’s status as a member of Compass Group USA further underscores its stability and commitment to best practices in the foodservice industry. Candidates joining this team will benefit from comprehensive training, career development, and a work culture infused with passion for food and service, making this an ideal position for dedicated hospitality professionals who want to make a meaningful impact in campus dining and catering services.
