Sodexo’s Campus Segment is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Catering Manager to join their team at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. This role is a unique and exciting opportunity for a customer-focused and creative catering professional who excels in a fast-paced setting. The Catering Manager will be responsible for the organization, coordination, and flawless execution of a variety of university, campus, and third-party events. These events include intimate gatherings and high-profile functions hosted by senior university leadership, including the President and Provost Offices, Development and Alumni Relations, Finance and Administration, Deans Offices, and the Zoellner Arts Center.
The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in catering, with hands-on experience managing upscale and high-profile events, and the proven ability to coordinate multiple functions simultaneously. This position requires a leader who can navigate the complexities of event planning while maintaining Sodexo’s commitment to exceptional service and food quality standards. The Catering Manager will oversee daily booking activities, ensure timely communication between clients and the sales team, and lead catering meetings to keep all departments aligned and informed.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the Catering Manager plays an integral role in the financial success of the catering program by assisting with event budgeting, forecasting, and upselling initiatives to maximize revenue. Collaboration with the marketing team is also essential to support and execute targeted campaigns that drive catering sales growth across Lehigh University.
Training, developing, and mentoring catering staff is a critical component of this role, ensuring the team delivers memorable guest experiences that reflect Sodexo’s high service standards. The Catering Manager must also ensure strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations, creating a secure and efficient work environment.
This position is ideal for a professional with strong organizational skills, excellent leadership and team-building abilities, and a professional demeanor suited to adapting service for a diverse clientele ranging from students to executives. Experience managing high-volume and VIP-level events is highly desirable.

- minimum two years of management experience
- minimum one year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants fast food vending catering services institutional services mall food courts etc

Job Duties
- work directly with university senior leadership offices such as president and provost offices development and alumni relations finance and administration deans offices and zoellner arts center
- manage day-to-day booking of all events ensuring timely customer response communicate event updates and changes to team manage catering event meetings across departments
- lead team with bookings details timelines flight plans for large internal and external events
- assist with budgeting events with customers forecast events for financial reporting including upselling
- help execute marketing plan to increase catering revenue
- oversee event setup and presentation maintaining sodexo standards of service and quality
- train develop and mentor catering staff to deliver outstanding guest experiences
- ensure compliance with food safety sanitation and workplace safety standards
