Job Description

Sodexo is a globally recognized leader in quality of life services, dedicated to creating better everyday experiences for individuals and communities. The company operates across various sectors including food service, catering, facilities management, and other integrated solutions worldwide. Sodexo emphasizes its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunities, ensuring a respectful and supportive work environment where all employees can thrive. Their mission revolves around enhancing the quality of life for those they serve while contributing positively to economic, social, and environmental progress within the communities in which they operate. As a socially responsible enterprise, Sodexo prides itself on its dedication to providing memorable experiences for both customers and employees through innovative and service-oriented solutions.

In this unique opportunity, Sodexo is seeking a Catering Manager 3 to support the catering department at Sheppard Pratt Health System (SPHS) in Baltimore, Maryland, one of the largest non-profit providers in the U.S. for mental health, substance use, special education, developmental disabilities, and social services. SPHS has earned national recognition as a top psychiatric hospital by U.S. News & World Report for 28 consecutive years.

The Catering Manager 3 will oversee catering operations across two locations — Towson and Ellicott City — managing multi-site catering services within the dynamic environment of Sheppard Pratt’s campus. This role requires a leader who is both hands-on and technologically savvy, capable of juggling multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional standards for food quality and customer service. The individual will act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring flawless event execution from planning to delivery, and will often engage with senior-level executives and stakeholders.

To succeed, this role demands excellent organizational and communication skills combined with strong operational and management experience in catering events of up to 100 people. The Catering Manager 3 will be responsible for training front-line employees, managing daily multi-site logistics, and maintaining adherence to policies and quality standards. Knowledge of special diets and allergens is crucial, as is a passion for food innovation and impeccable customer service. Travel between sites will be a daily requirement, and a clean motor vehicle background check is mandatory.

The compensation package is competitive and reflects the candidate’s education, skills, and experience level. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, and career growth opportunities such as tuition reimbursement.

Sodexo’s culture values individuality and inclusivity, encouraging employees to bring their true selves to work. The company’s commitment to creating a supportive and equitable workplace fosters a collaborative atmosphere where employee ideas and contributions are respected and valued. This role represents an excellent pathway for professionals passionate about event planning, food service leadership, and delivering superior catering experiences in a healthcare setting. Those who thrive in fast-paced, client-focused environments will find this position a rewarding opportunity to advance their careers with a respected industry leader.
