The Catering Manager position with Legends Global at the BMO Center, Coronado Theatre, and Davis Park offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual to lead and oversee catering operations across these prominent venues. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all catered and private events are executed flawlessly, meeting or exceeding customer expectations while adhering to financial, sanitation, and organizational goals. As a Catering Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and other department leaders to coordinate event details, supervise catering staff, manage labor resources, and maintain an active presence during events to guarantee the highest quality of service.

This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 annually and involves irregular hours including weekends and evenings depending on the event schedule. The Catering Manager will be responsible for vital aspects such as reviewing banquet event orders, assisting with supply orders and inventories, preparing pre-event meetings, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment. A strong emphasis is placed on guest service excellence, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple events in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.

Candidates must possess a comprehensive understanding of catering and banquet operations, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to maintain professionalism in all interactions. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office applications, proficiency in handling cash transactions, and the capacity to pass ServSafe Manager’s Training and Alcoholic Beverage Service Training are critical for success in this position. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent food service experience preferred
  • minimum of four (4) years of experience in the food and beverage industry required
  • minimum of two (2) years of experience in a catering environment preferred
  • minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience
  • ability to stand, walk, and stoop daily
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs. above shoulder level and carry up to 50 lbs. for up to 5 minutes at a time
  • capability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with irregular hours including weekends and evenings
  • ability to communicate effectively in noisy environments
  • ability to access information in print and on computer/terminal monitor
  • ability to maintain professionalism and customer service excellence at all times

Job Duties

  • Review all banquet event order information to ensure successful execution of catered events
  • work with Director of Food & Beverage to fulfill labor requirements
  • assist in order compilation and placing of linen, beverage & disposable ware orders
  • coordinate function details with sales staff, event coordinators, and culinary staff
  • coordinate food set-up and/or delivery time with culinary staff
  • prepare pre-event meetings with catering staff
  • direct and supervise all catering staff to ensure high-quality service
  • maintain an active presence during events with close attention to organizational details, customer service, sanitation, and labor allocation
  • enforce cleanliness and sanitation practices of catering services
  • manage labor force to ensure efficiency and timeliness of duties
  • oversee opening/closing duties
  • assist with retail services and bars when the schedule allows
  • supervise all catering staff in a manner consistent with Legends Global Human Resource Policies and Procedures
  • promote a safe work environment and report any potential hazards
  • assist with ongoing training of all Catering Services staff as necessary
  • contribute to maintaining weekly labor cost goals while ensuring high-quality service, sanitation, and product usage practices are followed
  • assist in monthly food and beverage inventories & periodic small wares inventories
  • perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary
