Job Description
Flynn Group is a highly reputable restaurant franchise operator, established in 1999 by Greg Flynn. Over the years, it has grown exponentially to become the largest franchise operator in the world, managing a diverse portfolio of world-class brands including Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and Planet Fitness. Flynn Panera, a key segment of Flynn Group, entered the Panera Bread system in 2015 through the acquisition of 47 cafes. Since then, they have more than tripled in size, becoming the second largest Panera franchisee globally. Their decentralized business model empowers local leadership teams, structured with Market Leaders overseeing geographic areas, Area Directors managing multiple units, and General Managers leading individual cafes, supported by Assistant Managers and Team Managers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Flynn Panera is renowned for its dedicated leadership team boasting over 190 years of combined experience in the restaurant industry, including 60+ years within Flynn Group itself. The company places a strong emphasis on three core values: Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One, driving their mission to be the premier operator within each of their iconic brands. Employing these values has contributed to a supportive, thriving workplace culture and sustained business growth, all while delivering excellent service to communities nationwide.
The role of Catering Lead at Flynn Panera offers a unique opportunity to join this dynamic and expanding franchise. As a vital team member, a Catering Lead connects directly with customers, impacting the growth of the business by managing catering sales, order preparation, and customer service. This position is not only about delivering exceptional food and experiences but also about contributing to local communities through efficient catering services. Catering Leads gain practical experience in sales and customer relations, making this role an excellent stepping-stone toward a career in catering management within the Panera system.
The Catering Lead is responsible for processing, preparing, and delivering catering orders, coordinating with a team to execute large orders when necessary, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction by following up promptly after orders are complete. The Catering Lead manages accounts to foster repeat business and collaborates closely with both cafe teams and Regional Catering Sales Managers to identify and pursue new catering opportunities. This involves strategic planning, cold calling, presentation, and closing sales techniques, while also maintaining strong organizational skills using tools like the Outlook Calendar and digital communication methods.
This role is structured to accommodate individuals with a positive attitude, excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure with diverse teams. Flynn Panera offers competitive wages ranging from minimum wage up to $20 per hour, plus tips. Additional perks include flexible work schedules, meal discounts, health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid sick leave, and opportunities for professional development. As a physically active role, the Catering Lead must be able to stand for prolonged periods, safely lift up to 50 pounds, and possess manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment.
Flynn Panera’s commitment to an inclusive and accommodating workplace ensures that all employees can work to their fullest potential, supported by a culture they are proud of. The company supports equal employment opportunities and reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Working as a Catering Lead at Flynn Panera is more than just a job; it is a chance to be part of an inspiring team dedicated to excellence, growth, and community impact, making it an outstanding choice for anyone seeking a rewarding career in the food and hospitality industry.
