Job Description

Our company is a leading event management and catering organization based in San Francisco, renowned for delivering exceptional culinary experiences at some of the city’s most iconic cultural premieres, Fortune 500 galas, stadium activations, and large-scale festivals throughout the Bay Area. With a reputation for excellence in hospitality and event services, we specialize in managing high-volume catering operations that require precise coordination, expert food preparation, and seamless execution across multiple venues. Our team is committed to upholding the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, making us a preferred partner for premier events that demand both creativity and operational excellence.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Kitchen Manager to lead our commissary and off-site kitchen operations. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $95,000 per annum, along with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401K retirement plans, and paid time off. The role is primarily on-site in San Francisco, with minimal remote work required.

As the Catering Kitchen Manager, you will be at the forefront of orchestrating all kitchen activities connected to our large-scale events. You will oversee the preparation of food in our commissary, manage logistics for transporting and assembling meals off-site, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure that every event is executed flawlessly from start to finish. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation protocols, and labor standards to guarantee both the quality and safety of the food served.

An integral part of your responsibilities will be controlling inventory and procurement processes, fostering strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliable supply chains, and managing labor and food costs to meet budgetary goals. You will act as a mentor and trainer to kitchen staff, offering guidance, performance evaluations, and hands-on support when necessary—whether it involves stepping in to assist with line cooking or overseeing the entire kitchen operation during high-pressure events.

This role demands a candidate with substantial experience in hospitality and catering, particularly in managing high-volume kitchens in off-site locations such as stadiums, convention centers, cultural venues, and festivals. Certification as a Food Safety Manager within California and proven compliance expertise are essential. In addition to technical skills, we seek a candidate with strong organizational capabilities, a sharp eye for cost control, and excellent communication and leadership qualities, with multilingual abilities such as Spanish or Mandarin considered a plus.

Flexibility is key in this dynamic role, requiring availability to work evenings, weekends, and event-based schedules. The location also requires the ability to commute within a 50-mile radius of San Francisco. If you are passionate about leading teams to deliver outstanding culinary experiences at some of the most prestigious and large-scale events in the Bay Area, this role is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in the event catering industry.
