The Catering Services Director role at Aramark is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire catering operation across multiple units or large accounts. This role requires strategic leadership and hands-on management of the catering team, the planning and execution of catering orders, and the management of special events. The director will hold responsibility for setting budgets, achieving financial goals, and ensuring that all aspects of catering operations align with company standards and client expectations.
Serving as the linchpin between the catering team and clients, the Catering Services Director coordinates all facets of catering services, from event booking, menu development, pricing strategies, hiring, and team supervision, to the administrative management of departmental functions. This position involves developing and maintaining effective relationships with clients to anticipate and meet their catering needs while creating tailored solutions that enhance customer satisfaction. The director is also tasked with implementing comprehensive marketing plans to promote catering services and contribute to business growth.
In addition to operational oversight, this role requires meticulous attention to service and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and compliance across all catering events. The Catering Services Director stays informed about current trends and introduces new services and products to enhance the client experience and bolster retention. Participating actively in sales negotiations, the director assists clients in planning memorable special events, balancing both creativity and operational feasibility.
Leadership and training are central to this role, as the director guides catering employees to uphold the highest standards in service delivery. Managing sales, food costs, labor targets, and staffing ensures efficient execution of catering events of varied size and complexity. Financial accountability is paramount, with responsibilities including accurate reporting of all catering-related revenue, expenses, and receivables. The director also ensures strict compliance with food safety, occupational health, and environmental policies.
This position requires flexibility, including availability to work event-based hours, and demands physical readiness for tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged walking or standing. Compliance with safety standards may also require the use of uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Working as a Catering Services Director at Aramark offers the opportunity to develop new skills, tackle challenges, and make a meaningful impact on both employees and customers in a dynamic, supportive environment.
