We are currently seeking motivated and dependable employees to join our dynamic team as Delivery and Catering Assistants. This hourly position offers a competitive pay rate of $20 per hour and involves diverse duties that encompass food preparation, delivery logistics, and on-site event support. The ideal candidate will bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in fast-paced environments. This role requires adaptability to handle last-minute changes and daily operational needs efficiently.

As a Delivery and Catering Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing delivery carts with all necessary items, loading and unloading vehicles, and setting up food stations at off-site catering locations. You will maintain cleanliness in trucks and storage areas while ensuring orders are organized and managed for streamlined delivery. Interaction with clients, onsite team members, and management is essential to communicate needs and provide excellent service. Additionally, you will perform daily vehicle inspections, manage fuel needs, and report any vehicle issues promptly. Depending on the event, you may remain on-site to assist with setting up, serving, replenishing food, and breaking down equipment.

This role is ideal for individuals who thrive on teamwork, are solution-oriented, and enjoy dynamic work settings involving customer interaction and logistical coordination. Requirements include a valid food handling certification, the ability to lift and move 50 pounds, and a clean driving record that qualifies you for the company insurance plan. Commercial driving experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Flexible scheduling and a readiness to work long hours on your feet are key to succeeding in this position.

Job Requirements

  • 21 years or older
  • Food handling card or certification through the approved organization
  • Able to lift and move 50 pounds
  • Able to sustain working long hours on your feet
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to scheduled shifts and locations on time, and to get home after your shift

  • Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
  • Ability to easily adapt to new settings and new team members
  • Can professionally follow directives and instructions on the spot during busy times
  • Outgoing, high energy personality
  • Ability to communicate accurate information and needs to peers and managers

Job Qualifications

  • Food handling card or certification through the approved organization
  • 1 year food service experience
  • 2 years in customer service
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
  • Flexibility with schedules/routes
  • Knowledge of downtown and surrounding areas
  • Basic car, truck, and/or commercial truck knowledge
  • Ability to professionally follow directives and instructions on the spot
  • Outgoing, high energy personality

Job Duties

  • Preparing carts with all necessary wares for each delivery
  • Loading and unloading vehicles with daily orders
  • Set up food stations at off-site catering locations
  • Keeping truck and loading area clean and free of waste
  • Arrange, organized and keeping storage space clean
  • Ability to communicate professionally to clients and management
  • Communicate with other servers on-site to determine their needs
  • Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any problems or issues to supervisor
  • Remain on-site for serviced events when required, including setting up and breaking down lunch equipment/utensils, serving and replenishing food
