Job Description
FIFA 26 is the organizing body responsible for one of the most anticipated sporting events globally, the FIFA World Cup 26™. This upcoming FIFA World Cup represents an unprecedented evolution in the history of the tournament, as it will for the first time feature 48 teams and be jointly hosted by three countries - Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This new format is designed to enhance the fan and player experience by expanding engagement across North America and around the globe. FIFA 26 is dedicated to delivering a world-class event that connects people worldwide through the excitement and spirit of football (soccer). The organization’s commitment extends beyond sports, focusing on innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability to ensure that the FIFA World Cup 26™ leaves a meaningful legacy.
The role of Catering Coordinator, Match Day Only, is a fixed-term contract based onsite in Kansas City during the tournament. Reporting directly to the Head of Catering, the Venue Catering Coordinator plays a critical operational role in managing on-site catering services during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, a precursor and closely related event to FIFA World Cup 26™. This role demands hands-on coordination and oversight to ensure exceptional food and beverage service to multiple key groups including Teams, Referees, the Youth Programme, Media, Broadcasting, Workforce, Volunteers, FIFA Partners, and Suppliers. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a high-pressure, dynamic event environment.
The incumbent will oversee catering logistics, ensuring smooth interaction between various service providers and internal teams, and guaranteeing that service standards meet the expectations of a world-renowned tournament. Key responsibilities include record-keeping of meal counts and catering requests, participation in service delivery and issue resolution, compiling daily performance data for operational review, and supporting sustainability and post-event documentation efforts. The role also entails training coordination and active collaboration with stakeholders such as stadium management, infrastructure, security, IT, marketing, and accreditation.
Aligning with FIFA 26’s core values, the successful candidate will demonstrate accountability, decisiveness, inclusivity, initiative, innovation, leadership, and a visionary approach towards delivering quality service and operational excellence. Prior experience in project or event management, especially in hospitality or catering within large-scale sports events, is essential. Proficiency in English is required, with additional languages like Spanish or French as a plus. The role also expects familiarity with MS Office and collaborative planning tools.
FIFA 26 offers a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance, life insurance, and a 401k retirement plan. This is a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and sports event management to join an international team dedicated to making history in football while contributing to an unforgettable experience for fans and participants alike.
