Job Requirements

  • must be 18 or older
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • over one year up to three years of related work experience
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • visual requirements including color vision and depth perception
  • ability to solve practical problems and perform arithmetic calculations
  • must be able to follow company policies and guidelines
  • must complete pre-employment drug screen

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • over one year up to three years of similar or related work experience
  • ability to solve practical problems
  • ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • ability to compose original correspondence and follow technical manuals
  • excellent communication skills
  • leadership and supervisory experience
  • experience with customer service and retail pricing
  • proficiency in bookkeeping and order coordination

Job Duties

  • assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading or unloading heavy items, noting customer suggestions

  • handles and satisfies customer issues
  • determines department goals with store director
  • meets with customers and determines their needs
  • writes detailed orders and coordinates with all involved departments
  • contacts businesses to inform them about catering service
  • develops contracts for exclusive Hy-Vee caterings
  • recommends and buys equipment with approval
  • consults with customers on rental companies
  • attends manager meetings and obtains baseline prices
  • figures retail pricing and ensures correct pricing
  • prepares customer bills and oversees bookkeeping
  • develops standard catering practices and checks quality control
  • answers phone calls and returns voicemail timely
  • develops department performance guidelines
  • organizes store events and setups displays
  • ensures proper temperatures and storage procedures
  • troubleshoots equipment and ensures maintenance
  • maintains adherence to hygiene and dress guidelines
  • adheres to company and store policies
  • reports to work as scheduled
