The Cook position at Aramark is an exciting role designed for individuals who are passionate about food and creative culinary expression. Working as a Cook, you will be tasked with bringing recipes to life using fresh ingredients and state-of-the-art kitchen equipment. In this role, you will prepare a variety of foods according to standardized recipes and specific production guidelines, ensuring both quality and consistency. Your responsibilities will include setting up your workstation, measuring and preparing ingredients, and utilizing kitchen utensils and equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, and slicers safely and efficiently. You will employ diverse cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming, allowing your culinary skills and creativity to shine.

Attention to detail is critical, as you will also be responsible for garnishing and portioning dishes according to established standards, maintaining food safety protocols through proper storage and sanitation practices, and keeping your work area clean. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • Ability to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
