Job Description

Delaware North Sportservice is a leading hospitality and food service company known for its operations in prominent sports venues, national parks, casinos, and other entertainment locations across the globe. Founded more than a century ago, Delaware North is a family-owned business with a rich heritage of over 100 years dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences through innovative food and beverage services. Particularly notable is their operation at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, home to the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, where they provide imaginative dining options that enhance the overall fan experience. Delaware North’s commitment to quality and creativity is exemplified by unique menu items such as teal-colored buns and specialty ice creams, underscoring their role as pioneers in the sports concession industry.

This specific opportunity is for a Seasonal Cook position at EverBank Stadium, designed for individuals passionate about culinary arts and customer service. The role focuses on preparing food that adheres strictly to portion sizes, quality standards, departmental rules, policies, and procedures while maintaining food safety and freshness. This cook position entails close collaboration with serving team members to ensure guests receive timely, high-quality meals. Emphasizing teamwork and culinary excellence, Delaware North fosters an environment where innovation and professional growth are highly encouraged.

Working in this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workstation, ensuring that all equipment and coolers are properly sanitized and stocked. This contributes directly to seamless food preparation and safety compliance. Waste control is another critical aspect of the job, requiring meticulous recording of any spoilage to minimize losses. Furthermore, cooks perform various duties, including opening and closing preparations, side work tasks, and end-of-day inventory management, all of which are vital for efficient kitchen operations.

The position offers competitive pay at $17.00 per hour and potential eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and holidays, parental bonding leave, employee assistance programs, tuition reimbursement, and professional certification reimbursements. Delaware North also emphasizes work-life balance by offering flexible scheduling options and opportunities for training and development, alongside weekly pay and employee discounts.

What sets this role apart is Delaware North’s focus on fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. As a global employer, Delaware North values diversity and equal opportunity, welcoming applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected classification. This fosters an environment where each team member feels valued and empowered to contribute to the company’s continuing legacy of hospitality excellence.

In summary, joining Delaware North as a Seasonal Cook means becoming part of a team that not only prepares quality foods for high-profile sporting events but also invests in your personal and professional growth. You will work in a dynamic setting that celebrates creativity, teamwork, and commitment to outstanding service, all for an employer with a longstanding reputation and vast opportunities for career progression. Whether you are seeking seasonal work at a beloved sports venue or a stepping stone in the culinary field, this opportunity offers a rewarding and engaging experience for motivated individuals ready to contribute their skills and enthusiasm to a leading hospitality group.
