The restaurant’s signature wood-fired grill imbues dishes with lively flavors, creating memorable dining experiences for its patrons. The Newport Restaurant Group fosters a friendly, collaborative work environment emphasizing teamwork, great food, and exceptional locations, making it an ideal workplace for hospitality professionals who are passionate about delivering excellence. Joining this team means becoming more than an employee—you gain the opportunity to become an owner and invest in your career within a strong, supportive network.

The Catering Cook role at Waterman Grille is a dynamic position that requires preparing, seasoning, and cooking food specifically for banquet services. In this role, you will engage in everything from understanding banquet event orders (BEOs) to preparing menu items according to established standards, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, and effectively supporting banquet operations. This position demands a passionate individual with strong organizational skills, a sense of urgency, and a positive attitude. The Catering Cook will work closely with the catering chef and the rest of the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during events. The role involves standing for extended periods, lifting and moving items weighing between 25 and 50 pounds, and working a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation for this role ranges from $20 to $24 per hour, reflecting the importance of the position within the Newport Restaurant Group's hospitality team. Alongside competitive pay, employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes sick leave compliant with Rhode Island and Massachusetts laws, generous 401(k) company matching, employee ownership opportunities, discounts on food and beverages at group locations, employee assistance programs, and various bonus programs aimed at rewarding tenure and referrals. Additionally, depending on hours worked annually, eligibility for medical, dental, vision insurance, Flexible and Dependent Care spending account options, health reimbursement accounts, telemedicine access, and paid vacation time are also available.

This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their culinary skills within a high-energy catering environment. Whether you bring prior experience or are newly stepping into the culinary field, Waterman Grille provides a supportive atmosphere that encourages growth and collaboration.
