The core responsibility of this position involves the preparation, execution, and delivery of catering orders, ensuring that all food products meet stringent quality, portion, and presentation standards. The Catering Cook is tasked with supporting all facets of catering operations—ranging from food preparation in a fast-paced kitchen environment to safely transporting and setting up food and equipment at client sites.
Key to this role is adherence to health and safety standards, including HACCP guidelines and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. The Catering Cook ensures proper food labeling, storage, and safe handling practices throughout the preparation and delivery processes. They represent Guckenheimer professionally during client interactions, ensuring seamless service and addressing any client needs effectively. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for long periods, as well as a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to operate company vehicles for catering deliveries.
Successful candidates for this position will have 1 to 3 years of culinary or food service experience, with catering preferred. They must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time independently. The role also involves operational duties such as inventory management, support of kitchen operations beyond catering events, and effective communication of any challenges to leadership. Guckenheimer’s commitment to health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) policies ensures the Catering Cook works within a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible framework.
Overall, the Catering Cook position at Guckenheimer offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering exceptional culinary service and experiences. Employees gain exposure to both kitchen production and event support operations, contributing directly to client satisfaction and the company’s distinguished reputation in the food service industry. With comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, life, disability insurance, and a leave program, Guckenheimer supports both the professional and personal well-being of its team members, making it a rewarding workplace for culinary professionals dedicated to excellence.
