The Chef de Cuisine role at Aramark is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing all culinary operations at a specific location. This leadership role demands not only culinary expertise but also strong management skills to supervise and coordinate kitchen personnel and related culinary activities. The Chef de Cuisine ensures the highest quality standards are met by developing and standardizing recipes, planning and pricing menus, and maintaining excellent presentation techniques. They also bear responsibility for estimating food consumption, procuring necessary food items, and ensuring that all kitchen equipment is operated and maintained properly. Safety and sanitation standards must be rigorously upheld to provide a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

Job Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years experience in a related culinary role
  • Post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
  • Advanced understanding of culinary principles and practices
  • Experience managing staff and resolving kitchen-related issues
  • Strong communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Ability to maintain safety and sanitation standards
  • Capability to manage catering events and culinary demonstrations

Job Qualifications

  • Requires at least 2-3 years in a related position
  • Requires at least 2-3 years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • Requires experiential knowledge of management of people and or problems
  • Requires verbal, reading, and written communication skills
  • Requires bilingual (English and Spanish)

Job Duties

  • Trains and leads kitchen personnel
  • Supervises and coordinates all related culinary activities
  • Estimates food consumption and requisitions or purchases food
  • Selects and develops recipes and standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establishes presentation technique and quality standards, and plans and prices menus
  • Ensures proper equipment operation and maintenance and ensures proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Oversees special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and or demonstrate culinary techniques
