We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Captain to join our dynamic hospitality team at The Confluence Hotel. This role is integral to our catering service operations and offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, manage event logistics, and ensure exceptional guest experiences. As the Catering Captain, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire catering service process from set-up to breakdown, coordinating staff, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail. You will collaborate closely with event planners and clients to tailor service to individual requirements, manage timing, and resolve any issues on-site promptly.

This position is coded as part-time with open availability and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak event times. You will play a vital role in ensuring every event runs smoothly and leaves a lasting positive impression on guests. The ideal candidate will have proven hospitality experience, be able to work efficiently under pressure, and demonstrate a professional and positive attitude. Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise catering service staff to ensure smooth and efficient event execution
  • Set up and break down catering stations, ensuring all equipment and supplies are prepared and maintained
  • Greet guests professionally, address their needs, and provide excellent customer service throughout the event
  • Monitor food presentation, quality, and safety standards in accordance with health regulations
  • Collaborate with event planners and clients to understand specific requirements and customize service accordingly
  • Manage timing and logistics to ensure timely delivery and service of food and beverages
  • Handle any on-site issues promptly and effectively to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the catering area before, during, and after events
