Berkeley Dining is part of the Division of Student Affairs, specifically within the Residential Student Services Programs portfolio. The dining program is self-operated and is focused on culinary excellence, social responsibility, and enhancing the living and learning environment for its customers, which includes over 12,000 meal plan holders. Berkeley Dining serves more than 5 million meals annually across 14 facilities, offering a range of dining options including residential all-you-care-to-eat dining, retail a la carte, training table, early childhood meal production, and catering services. The staff comprises approximately 450 full- and part-time employees and around 400 student workers, providing service every day of the week for seventeen hours each day across multiple locations on campus.

The Catering Banquet Server position offers an exciting opportunity to join this dynamic dining program. This role is responsible for the setup and service of catering orders at delivery locations specified by clients, ensuring that food and non-food products meet high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation. The Catering Banquet Server plays an essential role in maintaining the seamless execution of catering events, from setup through to breakdown, ensuring that clients and guests receive superior service. Duties include providing knowledgeable and attentive service during beverage receptions, buffet meals, or plated meal services, and maintaining cleanliness and order in the catering areas and equipment. Additionally, this position entails operational responsibilities such as preparing event spaces, setting tables with formal service ware, assembling and transporting items between event locations, and managing inventory control for catered events. The Catering Banquet Server will also be responsible for the proper storage and sanitation of catering materials and equipment after events.
