Job Duties
- produce and prepare food for events and functions to comply with the menu and recipes
- display prepared food with an artistic mind and following recipes and assuring correct amounts are served per person
- check food deliveries for accuracy as required
- let catering manager know when items need to be ordered or running low on
- ensure all stock is stored appropriately using fifo (first in, first out) rotation and labeled correctly with dates when storing
- general kitchen cleaning to follow cleaning schedule
- dishwashing as needed, both manually and by machine
- during event making sure food is out in a timely matter and you are watching the food and replenishing when needed during events
- be able to work on the fly and be patient when events do not go as planned
- treat customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect
- maintain a safe work environment according to federal and state regulations
- positively respond to direction and requests for assistance from co-workers, supervisors, managers, and guests
- take initiative to help any area of the catering department when possible
- undertake any other duties as may reasonably be requested of a catering assistant
