Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year related experience or training in a similar kitchen setting or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to stand and walk frequently
  • physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • good communication skills
  • ability to follow recipes and instructions
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • availability to work seasonally
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends

Job Duties

  • produce and prepare food for events and functions to comply with the menu and recipes
  • display prepared food with an artistic mind and following recipes and assuring correct amounts are served per person
  • check food deliveries for accuracy as required
  • let catering manager know when items need to be ordered or running low on
  • ensure all stock is stored appropriately using fifo (first in, first out) rotation and labeled correctly with dates when storing
  • general kitchen cleaning to follow cleaning schedule
  • dishwashing as needed, both manually and by machine
  • during event making sure food is out in a timely matter and you are watching the food and replenishing when needed during events
  • be able to work on the fly and be patient when events do not go as planned
  • treat customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect
  • maintain a safe work environment according to federal and state regulations
  • positively respond to direction and requests for assistance from co-workers, supervisors, managers, and guests
  • take initiative to help any area of the catering department when possible
  • undertake any other duties as may reasonably be requested of a catering assistant
