Job Description
The Catering & Service Coordinator position is a vital role within the hospitality industry, focused on enhancing the sales and marketing efforts related to catering services, food and beverage offerings, and banquet facilities. This position is typically housed within a hotel environment that offers comprehensive banquet and event services. A key priority of this role is to interact directly with clients, which helps maximize revenue and profitability not only from food and beverage sales but also from meeting room rentals. The Coordinator is instrumental in coordinating efforts between the hotel’s sales team and the Food and Beverage department to ensure seamless event execution and client satisfaction.
The organization hiring for this role places a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality customer service, achieving revenue goals, and maintaining ongoing relationships both internally with team members and externally with clients. The Catering & Service Coordinator plays a crucial role in preparing essential documentation such as proposals, contracts, Banquet Event Orders, and Banquet Checks. These documents support accurate and efficient event planning and delivery. Furthermore, the role involves some level of creative input in developing new accounts and nurturing existing client relationships to foster repeat business opportunities.
This is an hourly position complemented by a 4% commission on consumed catering revenue generated and serviced, providing a compensation structure that rewards performance and direct contributions to the company’s profitability. Successful candidates for this role will demonstrate high proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant sales software, alongside a keen ability to manage client communications and financial data. Given the hospitality context, candidates should be flexible in their working hours, including potential nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of special events and busy periods.
Overall, this role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and event services, looking to build a career within a dynamic hotel setting. The Catering & Service Coordinator serves as an essential bridge between clients and the hotel operations, ensuring that every catering event meets or exceeds expectations. By maintaining composure under pressure, effectively managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and consistently focusing on customer satisfaction and revenue growth, this individual contributes significantly to the hotel's success. Thus, this position not only requires solid organizational and communication skills but also a friendly and professional demeanor to foster positive client relationships and encourage return business.
