The Catering and Events Manager role at Collared Martin Hospitality is an integral position reporting directly to the Director of Sales. This role centers on orchestrating flawless events across the company’s various hotel properties and beyond while driving revenue growth through strategic event planning and execution. The manager's primary responsibility includes managing all facets of event coordination—from initial client consultations and bookings to detailed event execution—ensuring each event reflects the brand’s dedication to quality and exceptional service.

Located in Boston with responsibilities extending across multiple properties within the Collared Martin portfolio, this role demands frequent travel and requires availability during evenings and weekends to support live events. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, creativity, and a passion for hospitality. They will act as the key liaison for group clients, support business development initiatives by seeking new catering opportunities locally and regionally, and maintain excellent client relationships.

This position requires hands-on management of Banquet Event Orders, food and beverage menu planning tailored to client preferences, and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations. The manager is expected to work collaboratively with various internal departments and external vendors, ensuring seamless communication and execution of events that align with the Faraway brand's unique themes and standards.

A significant aspect of this role includes working closely with General Managers at each property to coordinate event logistics and maintain consistent quality and service standards. The Catering and Events Manager will also gather and analyze client and guest feedback to continually enhance the service experience, fostering repeat business and long-term partnerships.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years in event planning catering management or a related field
  • Four-year college degree or 2 years of college and 4 years of work experience
  • Ability to collaborate with various departments and external vendors
  • Experience in leading and developing teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proactive in problem-solving

Job Duties

  • Support the Director of Sales as the primary liaison for groups in-house ensuring seamless communication and coordination across hotel portfolios
  • Develop existing business and actively solicit new catering opportunities locally and regionally expanding reach and influence
  • Book sell and plan coordinate special social events assuring the highest level of customer service and satisfaction throughout the process
  • Generate revenue by establishing new accounts monitoring booking space and maintaining high-quality standards conducting catering sales presentations and making sales calls to attract new clients
  • Own and manage all Banquet Event Orders for upcoming events at all hotels guaranteeing every detail is executed flawlessly
  • Plan food and beverage menus that cater to clients’ preferences and special requests creating memorable culinary experiences
  • Ensure that all events meet or exceed client expectations by providing exceptional service and addressing any concerns promptly to enhance overall guest experiences
  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to create customized event experiences that align with the brand incorporating themes and unique elements
  • Gather and analyze feedback from clients and guests post-events to continually improve service offerings and foster long-term relationships
  • Partner with General Managers at each property to oversee and support event operations coordinating event logistics aligning operational needs and ensuring consistent quality and service standards
