With a portfolio that includes prestigious brands such as Gaylord Hotels, Marriott offers a dynamic workplace where professionals can grow their careers and contribute to a world-class service culture. The company values creativity, dedication, and a commitment to excellence among its employees, referred to as STARs. These individuals embody the spirit of Marriott and are integral to maintaining the brand's reputation for outstanding customer service.
Gaylord Hotels, a distinguished brand under Marriott International, specializes in creating extraordinary meeting and event experiences. By combining innovative event spaces, exceptional amenities, and a passionate team, Gaylord Hotels offers an environment where guests feel welcomed and valued. The culture emphasizes collaboration, respect, and continuous development, supporting employees to reach their full potential.
The role we are offering is a full-time, non-management position based in Chula Vista, California, with a competitive hourly pay rate of $24.00. This position is essential in the food and beverage sector, primarily focusing on guest service within the dining experience. It involves welcoming guests, guiding them to their seats, and ensuring a comfortable and pleasant dining environment.
As a food and beverage team member, your duties will include managing seating arrangements, ensuring menus and dining areas are clean and well-organized, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and service throughout your shift. Exceptional communication skills and a professional appearance are crucial, as you will be the first point of contact for guests and will represent the brand directly.
This role requires standing, walking, and light physical activities such as moving chairs and tables to accommodate guests' needs. You will also handle phone calls professionally and work collaboratively with team members to uphold quality standards and promote a positive work atmosphere. No prior supervisory experience is required, nor is certification. However, a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and prior experience in a food service environment is valued but not mandatory.
Marriott International is committed to equal opportunity employment, celebrating diversity, and providing an inclusive workplace that respects all backgrounds and perspectives. We welcome applicants regardless of disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable laws. By joining Marriott and Gaylord Hotels, you become part of a global team dedicated to excellence and passionate about delivering memorable guest experiences while developing your own career to its fullest potential.
