Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience
  • Servsafe Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to taste and work with all ingredients
  • ability to read and execute recipes and mathematically reduce or expand them
  • schedule flexibility
  • acceptable criminal offender records information (CORI) check
  • successful completion of pre-employment physical and lift test
  • successful completion of required reference and background checks

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent

  • equivalent work experience in lieu of minimum education and related experience
  • Servsafe Food Handler Certification required or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • time management and ability to multitask
  • ability to taste and work with all ingredients
  • ability to read and execute recipes and mathematically reduce or expand them
  • attention to detail and pride in performance
  • schedule flexibility and ability to work large events when needed
  • an acceptable criminal offender records information (CORI) check
  • successful completion of pre-employment physical and lift test
  • successful completion of required reference and background checks
  • experience in collegiate or institutional food service production preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare assigned menus to standard, including hot and cold menu items
  • maintain health and safety standards and health department regulations
  • communicate operational needs in an effective and proactive manner
  • promote and execute duties safely and to the highest standard
  • assist with production as needed
  • support student dining services
  • help with campus-wide events
