Job Description
Pueblo of Sandia is a prominent tribal enterprise known for its commitment to community values and economic development. With a rich cultural heritage and dedication to excellence, the Pueblo operates various businesses including a renowned casino, hospitality ventures, and community programs that support growth and opportunity within the region. Their operations reflect a deep respect for integrity, fairness, collaboration, and communication, ensuring a supportive and thriving environment for both employees and patrons alike. This organization fosters a respectful workplace where performance excellence is recognized as a cornerstone for success today and well into the future.
The Pueblo of Sandia Casino Host position plays a vital role in advancing business revenue by cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with VIP customers. This role is centered around personalized service, ensuring that high-end patrons receive exceptional care and attention to foster loyalty and increase repeat visits. The candidate will be responsible for managing a book of premium slot and table game players, analyzing customer data to drive incremental visits, and serving as a key ambassador for the casino in daily operations, events, and promotions.
This position requires a unique blend of administrative expertise and frontline customer engagement, requiring the host to maintain a visible, approachable presence throughout the facility. Key responsibilities include greeting and serving patrons with outstanding customer service, managing comp authorizations and resort point transactions with a high level of accuracy, and coordinating various guest services like transportation, accommodation, golf outings, and spa treatments. Furthermore, the casino host may be required to travel to different markets or events to attract new VIP clientele, working closely with the Player Development Manager to meet and exceed business development goals.
Integrity and confidentiality are paramount in this role, as hosts handle sensitive guest information daily. The position demands excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a professional appearance, and resourcefulness in uncovering new business opportunities. Candidates must be able to deescalate volatile situations and adapt to the dynamic environment of a casino setting smoothly. The role also emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in Windows operating systems and office software, including email communications.
The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of casino or outside sales experience, hold a High School Diploma or GED, and be at least 21 years old. Preference is given to candidates with a college degree and bilingual skills in Spanish and English. A valid New Mexico Driver’s License and the ability to maintain a STGC Gaming License are mandatory. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, and perform occasional lifting and bending tasks. The work conditions include exposure to various environmental factors such as smoke, noise, and the need to work flexible hours including shifts, overtime, and potential overnight travel during special events.
Overall, this role offers an exciting opportunity to join a respected organization that values quality guest service and provides a pathway for career growth within a vibrant tribal casino environment. By embracing the values of Pueblo of Sandia and delivering top-tier service, the Casino Host will contribute directly to the success and reputation of the casino and the community it supports.
