The role of Beverage Server at the Kalispel Tribe's casino is a dynamic and essential position that places you directly on the casino floor amidst the heart of the action. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in high-energy, fast-paced environments and possess excellent communication skills as well as knowledge of alcoholic beverages. A Beverage Server is responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction by greeting guests, taking and delivering drink and food orders, and creating a fun and enjoyable experience. You will use a Point of Sale (POS) system to manage orders and payments efficiently and be knowledgeable about wine, including the ability to advise guests on wine pairings. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to maintain a clean and well-stocked workstation.
Your responsibilities will include constant and friendly service, managing payments accurately, assisting other servers, completing side work tasks, maintaining records of tips, and adhering to training and company policies. This role demands physical stamina to move about the floor, handle cash transactions, and comply with health and safety regulations, including obtaining necessary permits and certifications such as the Washington State Food Handlers Permit and Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST). Job Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Work Permit
- Washington State Food Handlers Permit - must obtain within 14 days of start date
- Hepatitis A vaccination
- Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) certification - must obtain within 60 days of start date
- available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- experience working as a waiter/waitress preferred
- must possess excellent customer relations and customer service skills
- ability to handle cash and give proper change
- skill in identifying and resolving problems under pressure conditions
- ability to learn and operate the POS system
Job Duties
- Use the POS system as trained
- greet guests in a friendly manner, take their beverage and food orders, serve the orders, clear all dishes and glassware from their table and present the guest check
- collect payment from the guest and provide change when necessary
- provide constant, attentive, and friendly service to all guests
- educate the guests about the daily specials and answer any questions they may have
- be knowledgeable about wine and be prepared to answer guest questions about wine pairing
- communicate with your supervisor to resolve any guest questions in a timely manner
- keep payments orderly and neat throughout your shift
- sell beverages and alcohol beverages, plus refill beverages
- maintain assigned sections and workstations
- assist other servers with all the above to ensure total teamwork
- complete all side work in a timely and satisfactory manner to ensure a clean, neat work area with adequate supply level
- maintain a clean and stocked server station
- correctly perform all necessary paper and bookwork at shifts end
- relay any complaints, problems, or positive remarks to shift supervisor
- maintain confidential daily record keeping of tips
- attend all training meetings
- assist in other projects, as directed
