Job Description

Aloha operates with a core philosophy rooted in respect, aloha spirit, and teamwork, aiming to create an extraordinary workplace where employees not only thrive but genuinely enjoy what they do. The company embraces its island heritage and leverages this cultural foundation to foster a nurturing and collaborative environment. Aloha’s workforce exemplifies mutual respect and shared commitment, which is reflected in the positive experiences they provide to customers and their business partners. The company’s name is synonymous with kindness, integrity, and a commitment to doing the right thing by one another, creating a workplace culture that balances professionalism with a familial atmosphere.

Aloha is primarily a retail establishment focused on providing high-quality customer service alongside various operational tasks essential to running a successful store. This position is open for full-time, part-time, or casual employment, offering flexibility to accommodate diverse scheduling needs. Employees benefit from competitive base pay along with a cash sign-on bonus, comprehensive health coverage, tuition reimbursement, and two weeks of vacation following one year of service. The company is committed to supporting employee growth and well-being, recognizing that a happy team directly translates to satisfied customers.

The role itself centers around delivering impeccable customer service by ensuring each customer receives prompt, friendly, and courteous assistance. The responsibility extends beyond greeting customers to include cashiering functions compliant with company policies, housekeeping duties that maintain a spotless and welcoming store environment, and stocking tasks that ensure products are readily available and accurately priced. The position requires adherence to several important safety and operational policies including Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM), tobacco sale regulations, and health and safety guidelines including proper food handling and sanitation.

Employees working in this role are expected to handle multiple day-to-day activities such as cashiering, customer interaction, and routine housekeeping. There are also periodic duties like attending monthly meetings and training sessions to stay updated on company policies and industry best practices. Occasional responsibilities might include assisting with merchandise intake, cleaning gasoline pumps, providing coverage at other locations, and taking on miscellaneous housekeeping duties as needed.

The physical and mental demands of the job require continuous attention to detail, concentration, alertness, and basic mathematical skills to handle cash properly. Employees need to have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, perform repetitive motions, and occasionally lift or carry merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. Communication is key in this role, as the position involves constant interaction with customers and coworkers while effectively following instructions from supervisors.

Ideal candidates should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, with no prior experience necessary as full training is provided on the job. Success in this role also includes completing the Sales Associates Training class and adhering to the company’s policies and values. Those who join Aloha are not only gaining a job; they are becoming part of a community dedicated to mutual respect, quality service, and shared success, all while enjoying the benefits and flexibility offered by a respected organization in the retail sector.
