The company is currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join their team as Cashier/Runners. This role is pivotal in maintaining the high standards Torchy's is known for, acting as both the first point of contact and an essential part of the dining experience. As a Cashier/Runner, you will not only be responsible for processing transactions quickly and accurately but also for ensuring guests feel valued and welcomed throughout their visit. The role involves much more than basic order taking; it’s about engaging guests, providing recommendations, running food to tables, and helping maintain the cleanliness and flow of the restaurant.

The Cashier/Runner works closely with the Hospitality Team and kitchen staff to create an efficient and smooth dining environment. In addition to operating the Point of Sale system, the role demands a strong knowledge of the menu and current promotions to give personalized and helpful suggestions to guests. The ability to deliver friendly and attentive service helps create lasting memories for customers, encouraging repeat visits and fostering a positive community presence.

Typical duties include running food and drinks to tables, proactively offering refills, keeping guest areas neat and organized, and responding to guest needs with promptness and a smile. Adaptability is key, as you will navigate busy periods and unexpected challenges while maintaining composure. Torchy's values team collaboration, so you’ll work closely with managers and other team members to resolve issues and ensure excellent service throughout the shift.

This position requires someone outgoing and friendly, with excellent communication skills and the ability to listen actively to guests' needs. Attention to detail is essential, from accurately inputting orders to recognizing opportunities to enhance the dining experience. The position offers a flexible schedule and pays $15.16 per hour, plus pooled tips which increase total earnings. Full-time employees may access benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance after one year, along with 401(k) after six months, paid time off, and other unique benefits like food discounts and support from the Torchy's Family Foundation.

Job Requirements

  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule
  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's and Alcohol Server certifications
  • Certification(s) must be obtained by first day or within location timeline
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to stand for several hours and walk for long periods
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on varying shelf heights

Job Qualifications

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with POS systems preferred
